Samim First Cycle Winners

Discover the successful projects from the first cycle of Samim and the initiatives that worked towards achieving SDG 11 (Sustainable communities and cities) and SDG 12 (Responsible consumption and production).

Shabek and Bader Project – Wasel For Awareness and Education

Empowering 30 volunteers with the necessary skills to launch a community initiative that aims to improve and renovate the infrastructure of two streets in Sahab City, Integrating solar power lightening, and expanding the urban green cover by planting 100 trees. This was the idea of Shabek and Bader project by Wasel Foundation for Awareness and Education to achieve sustainable cities and communities (Goal 11 of sustainable development goals).

Towards Sustainable Resource Efficient Households – Jordan GBC

This project aims to conduct an evaluation study of energy, water, and waste consumption behaviors of low-income households in the Al Qweismeh area in Amman that aims to raise awareness and build capacity on best practices that can be used in residential areas contributing to more sustainable cities and Communities (SDG 11).

Ma’adba Heritage Project – Shabab42 Foundation

Ma’adba Heritage Project contributes to Sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11) through its activities that revolve around awareness-raising sessions targeted at youth, training sessions targeting women to support them in promoting their handicrafts and providing youth an opportunity to actively participate in the creation of a tourism map.

The Art of Going Green – Isnad International Center for Empowerment

The Art of Going Green project aims to develop policies for waste management, Awareness-raising, and investment in recycling to achieve sustainable cities and communities (Goal11)

Waste Management Project – Dibeen for Environmental Development.

This project aims to engage communities actively in sustainable waste management, particularly focusing on source-based waste sorting، by increasing youth involvement and raising awareness among women and children. Dibeen identifies key barriers to waste sorting, delves into challenges, and seeks opportunities to engage policymakers.

JYIF as a Support Structure

JYIF piloted the support, training, and financing activities of the Samim Hub in Jordan. Jordanian Youth Innovation Forum sustained support sessions and grant management to ensure that the projects were effectively implemented and achieved their intended outcomes. This ongoing support was critical to the success of the projects and helped to ensure that the CSOs were well-equipped to navigate the complex challenges they faced as they worked to create positive change in their communities.\
